PARENTS' VIEWS OF THE EFFECT OF COVID-19 ON INDIVIDUALS WİTH SPECIAL NEEDS: THE CASE OF TURKEY

This study investigates the impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on lives individuals with special needs. In research carried out phenomenological design, data were obtained online from 121 parents children needs and live in 14 different cities Turkey by means an interview form consisting open-ended questions developed researchers. From content analysis data, 8 themes have been reached, namely, education, health, social life, behavioral-emotional adaptation, physical condition, family communication, indoor activities supports According to findings, stated most that during process, restricted their daily routines disturbed, they could not benefit efficiently distance learning, behavioral problems such as tantrums harming themselves others increased, negative situations emerged like weight gain / loss sleep disorders stress increased communication. Parents indicated do difficulties accessing health services for children. The majority needed psychological counseling, education services, financial support also received greatest members teachers.
